August 2025 Status Summary:

  • The flooring contractor, TK Flooring,  mobilized and began work at Oak Creek Elem on Monday, June 18
  • Completed tasks:
    • New carpet, rubber base, resilient flooring in wet areas, and east stairs; all installations are complete
    • District staff reviewed all work areas with the contractor, and punchlist items were identified
    • Contractor completed all punchlist items

July 2025 Status Summary:

  • The flooring contractor, TK Flooring,  mobilized and began work at Oak Creek Elem on Monday, June 18
  • Completed tasks:
    • New carpet installation in the lower and upper levels
    • New VCT/resilient flooring installed in all classrooms and work areas
    • Rubber base in upper level
  • Active tasks:
    • Rubber base in upper level
    • New resilient flooring installed in the east staircase
    • Carpet in main entrance/vestibule area
Project Manager’s Notes:
  • Power shut-off caused by the HVAC retrofit contractor impacted the flooring installation 
  • The flooring contractor actively worked with the District and the other contractors to provide a solution and temporary power
  • Project is on schedule, no significant issues were encountered during the process, and the contractor will finalize all of its work, including punchlist items, by early August

June 2025 Status Summary:

  • The flooring contractor mobilized and began work on Monday, June 18
  • Completed tasks:
    • Demolition of old carpet in lower-level classrooms and hallway
    • Scraping and sanding of old glue from lower-level concrete floors
  • Active tasks:
    • Demolition of carpet in main-level
    • Overlay of new plywood over existing flooring in upper level
    • Nailing down of new plywood and applying edge sealer
Project Manager’s Notes:

May 2025 Status Summary:

  • The contractor is revising the flooring install schedule per District comments
  • The district is coordinating multiple contractors completing different scopes of work at the school this summer

  • District reviewing contractor’s proposed schedule
  • Contractor working through the pre-construction process
  • Flooring work scheduled to begin June 18, 2025
