Districtwide Door Hardware Enhancement

During the summer of 2025, classroom door hardware will be upgraded to enhance security and functionality. The scope of work includes removing existing hardware and installing new cylinder locks in classrooms. Work will take place at LHS, LOHS, Hallinan ES, Oak Creek ES, Palisades WLS, and Westridge ES.

Project Updates

August 2025 Status Summary:

  • All new hardware has been installed and completed in all six schools
  • District staff reviewed all new hardware installed to confirm proper installation and function. Punch list distributed to the contractor. Punch list items complete

July 2025 Status Summary:

  • The contractor began new door hardware installation on Friday, June 27

June 2025 Status Summary:

  • The contractor began new door hardware installation on Friday, June 27
  • Hallinan and Westridge have been completed with new hardware installed in all classrooms
  • Oak Creek and Palisades are in progress; LHS and LOHS to follow

May 2025 Status Summary:

  • On May 5, 2025, the formal notice to proceed was sent to the contractor, including the fully executed contract
  • Door hardware submittals were reviewed and approved by the hardware consultant and the district
  • Hardware orders have been placed for all schools

April 2025 Status Summary:

  • The school district received two competitive bids on April 3, 2025
  • The lowest bidder was Precision Locksmith
  • A Notice of Intent to Award was distributed, including contract documents

March 2025 Status Summary:

  • Advertisement of Notice of Invitation to Bid posted in the Oregon DJC on March 14, 2025
  • A mandatory pre-bid meeting took place on March 20, 205 - attendees included door hardware vendors/installers as well as general contractors
  • Bids are due April 3, 2025
