Repair and maintain existing schools

Make repairs to roofs, windows and major building systems. Address seismic issues like gym, roof and wall connections so schools can better withstand a major earthquake. Make energy improvements district-wide such as replacing old, inefficient and high maintenance heating and ventilation systems.

Improve safety at all schools

Implement safety and security upgrades district-wide, such as automatic door locks, controlled entryways and security cameras. Improve access controls and structural issues to enhance overall student and staff safety.

Expand academic options

Add maker spaces and multi-purpose rooms to elementary schools. Add or renovate secondary school vocational/ technical/career classrooms for programs such as science, technology, engineering and math. Make technology infrastructure upgrades and add classroom devices to improve learning experiences for all students.

Rebuild Middle School

Rebuild Lakeridge Junior High School due to the structural damage to the existing building from expansive and unstable soils.

If passed, this bond measure would raise $187 million and is projected to have an average cost of $1.25 per $1000 of assessed value annually over the bond term. For a median home in Lake Oswego, that means about $425 per year.

Lake Oswego School District has several buildings in need of repair or replacement. Some buildings are more than 60 years old and need to be fixed, renovated or replaced. These proposed bond projects were prioritized by parents, teachers, administrators and community members to address the highest priority needs facing our schools.
